The first edition of the INT-MO-37241 Military Oceanography Course is being organized by the COE on behalf of the NATO Military Oceanography Technical Panel (MILOC).
This pilot course is designed to provide NATO and national Meteorological and Oceanographic (METOC) Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Sonar Operators, and Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Tactical Advisors with a greater knowledge and understanding of the tactical aspects of Military Oceanography and its impact on maritime operations.
The course will enhance participants’ understanding of how oceanographic conditions influence maritime operations, decision-making processes, and operational effectiveness in the maritime domain.

The course will be delivered by Subject Matter Experts from across NATO, including representatives from Canada, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Türkiye, and the United States, together with experts from the Maritime GEOMETOC COE and invited guest speakers.
The programme will consist of interactive lectures and practical exercises covering key aspects of Military Oceanography and its operational application.
