The COE in cooperation with NATO entities, will conduct the NATO METOC Tactical Operators Course (NMTOC) from 10 to 13 February 2026 at the premises of the Portuguese Hydrographic Institute (IHPT), in Lisbon, Portugal.
The NMTOC delivers mission-focused training for METOC forecasters and observers preparing to support NATO operations and exercises. The course is designed to enhance participants’ understanding of NATO structures, operational planning processes, and the role of METOC in supporting decision-making at both the operational and tactical levels.
This iteration of the course will focus on METOC support to NATO operations and scenarios related to the Allied Response Force (ARF). Training includes contributions from NATO subject matter experts and practical sessions on NATO METOC systems, products, and procedures.
The course will be conducted in English at the NATO UNCLASSIFIED level. It is open to qualified NATO and partner-nation METOC personnel preparing for deployment or participation in NATO missions and exercises.
