Visit of General DSACT to the MGEOMETOC COE

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​On the 28th of June 2021, the Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (DSACT), General Paolo Ruggiero, visited the NATO Maritime Geospatial, Meteorological & Oceanographic Centre of Excellence (MGEOMETOC COE). 

During this visit, General DSACT was received and accompanied by the Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice-admiral Jorge Novo Palma and by the Director-general of the Portuguese Hydrographic Institute and Chairman of the MGEOMETOC COE Steering Committee, Rear-admiral Carlos Ventura Soares.

The visit began with a briefing given by the Director of the MGEOMETOC COE, Captain Fernando Artilheiro, regarding the mission, review of activities, programme of work and future endeavours of the Maritime GEOMETOC COE. ​

After that, General Paolo Ruggiero visited the COE facilities and had the opportunity to meet the MGEOMETOC COE Team. At the end, as HQ SACT's strategic Focal Point of Contact (FPOC) for all COEs, General DSACT expressed his satisfaction and pride for the great commitment in developing in such a short time a remarkable Programme of Work very important to allow the Alliance to maintain its advantage.
