The NATO METOC Tactical Operators Course (NMTOC) was successfully conducted from 10 to 13 February 2026 at the compound of the Portuguese Hydrographic Institute in Lisbon, Portugal.
Delivered by SHAPE and hosted by the COE, which also provided one instructor, the course offered mission-focused training for METOC forecasters and observers preparing to support NATO operations and exercises.
The training programme focused on METOC support to NATO operations and scenarios related to the Allied Response Force. It included contributions from NATO subject matter experts and practical sessions on NATO METOC systems, products, and procedures.
The course was open to qualified NATO and partner-nation METOC personnel preparing for deployment or participation in NATO missions and exercises.
By hosting this course, the COE continues to strengthen NATO METOC interoperability, readiness, and operational effectiveness through high-quality education and training.
