The NATO Maritime GEOMETOC Centre of Excellence held its 12th Steering Committee Meeting (SCM) on 5 May 2026, bringing together Sponsoring and Observers Nations to review ongoing activities, approve key deliverables, and reinforce the Centre’s strategic direction in support of NATO requirements.
During the meeting, the Steering Committee reached agreement on several important decisions aimed at strengthening the Centre’s operational effectiveness, governance, and contribution to NATO priorities.
Key decisions of the 12th SCM included:
- Approval of the three Requests for Support received after the previous Steering Committee Meeting.
- Approval of the Financial Statements for the Fiscal Year 2025.
- Approval of the second edition of the Internship Programme, reinforcing the Centre’s commitment to education, training, and the development of future specialists in the GEOMETOC domain.
The outcomes of the meeting reflect the Centre’s continued focus on efficiency, transparency, and sustained support to NATO operations through high-quality maritime meteorological and oceanographic expertise.
