On 25 June 2026, the NATO Maritime GEOMETOC Centre of Excellence had the pleasure of welcoming the Director of the Spanish Hydrographic Institute (Instituto Hidrográfico de la Mariña – IHM), during his participation in the 4th Portuguese-Spanish Hydrography Conference, held in Lisbon from 24 to 26 June.
Collaboration between the IHM and the NATO COE enables the exchange of expertise in hydrography, oceanography, and maritime environmental support. This cooperation contributes to the development of best practices, enhances interoperability among Allied maritime organizations, and helps ensure that NATO benefits from authoritative maritime environmental knowledge for planning and operations.
The NATO Maritime GEOMETOC COE greatly values its partnership with the Spanish Hydrographic Institute and looks forward to expanding this collaboration in support of maritime security and operational excellence.
