2nd MGEOMETOC COE Steering Committee Meeting

The 2nd Steering Committee Meeting of the MGEOMETOC COE was convened on the 15th of June 2021 in Lisbon, by Video Tele Conference. For the very first time, the meeting was organized in a hybrid mode, ensuring the precautions and safety measures due to the COVID-19 constraints.

The meeting was directed by the Chairman of MGEOMETOC COE, Rear Admiral Carlos Ventura Soares, and was attended by representatives of the Sponsoring Nations, Portugal, Romania, Spain,  and Turkey, as well as by observer nations, Belgium, Canada, France, The Netherlands, United Kingdom and United States of America, as well as the Headquarters Supreme Allied Command Transformation (HQ SACT), the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) and the Headquarters Allied Maritime Command (MARCOM).

During this meeting the MGEOMETOC COE provided an overview of the status of execution of the programme of work and of the budget 2021, and the following documents were approved: the Technical Arrangement concerning the Voluntary National Contribution; the Cooperation Arrangements concerning the relationship with Industry and Academia (including internships); Technical Arrangement between Portugal and the MGEOMETOC COE concerning the administrative and logistical support to MGEOMETOC COE, and approval of the Financial Administrative Procedures (FAP) and the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) revision.

It was also defined the date of the 3rd NATO MGEOMETOC COE Steering Committee Meeting, that will be held face to face, on the 3rd and 4th of November 2021, in Lisbon.
