Advancing GEOMETOC Interoperability in Multi-Domain Operations at CWIX25

02-20 June 2025

From 2 to 20 June 2025, the NATO Maritime GEOMETOC Centre of Excellence (Maritime GEOMETOC COE) proudly participated in CWIX25 – NATO’s premier digital interoperability exercise – hosted at the Joint Force Training Centre (JFTC) in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

This year’s CWIX brought together:

  •  3,000+ participants
  • 570 capabilities and systems
  • 25,000+ tests across all five operational domains and 18 focus areas

Our Subject Matter Experts, LCDR (PRT Navy) Rui Guerreiro and CPT (PRT Air Force) Tiago Santos, made significant contributions by:

 Deploying one Capability
Leading an Exercise Objective within the GEOMETOC Focus Area
Serving as Deputy Lead for the GEOMETOC Focus Area

These efforts directly support NATO’s Digital Transformation by leveraging the Federated Mission Networking (FMN) initiative, ensuring “Day Zero” Interoperability of GEOMETOC information and systems — a critical enabler for mission success in complex, multi-domain environments.

CWIX remains a cornerstone for validating standards that will shape the future of NATO’s GEOMETOC capabilities and enhance operational readiness across the Alliance.
