The NATO Maritime GeoMETOC Centre of Excellence hosted a visit by Brigadier-General Vieira Pombo, the Head of the Resources Division (DIREC) of the Portuguese Joint General Staff, on March 14, 2024.
DIREC's mission is to assist the Chief of Staff in military strategic planning in the areas of human resources, logistics and financial planning for the Portuguese Armed Forces and in the implementation of the Law on Military Programming. Within the framework of the Chief of Defence Staff, DIREC also contributes to the internal control system of financial and asset management, human resources management, including language assessment and certification processes, and the coordination of training activities.
