The NATO Maritime GEOMETOC Centre of Excellence (COE) recently welcomed the Turkish Military Attaché, Navy Captain Önder Taşkin, on 28 February 2024.
Captain Önder Taşkin, who took up his post in Portugal in December 2023 and is expected to stay until 2026, was warmly welcomed by Navy Captain Miguel dos Reis Arenga, Director of the Centre. He received a comprehensive briefing on the COE's core mission, ongoing projects, transformation roadmap and upcoming endeavours. In addition, there was a fruitful dialogue on the current obstacles and potential prospects facing the Centre.
As Supply Officer and designated Turkish representative to the COE Steering Committee, Captain Taşkin's main objective was to gain a general overview of the NATO COE and the Portuguese Hydrographic Institute and their respective activities and projects.
