Participation of the MGEOMETOC COE in Navy Tech 2024 conference

​​From 30 January to 1 February, NATO Maritime GEOMETOC Centre of Excellence (COE), represented by Oceanography Staff Officer, Lieutenant-Commander Florin Constantinoiu, attended the Navy Tech 2024 conference in Tallinn, Estonia.

The aim of this conference is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience, which is essential to navigate through the complexities of modern naval warfare.​
Key naval issues such as developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI), autonomy, un​crewed systems and the improved efficiency and accuracy of ship systems were addressed.

Recent achievements of the Rapid Environmental Assessment warfare group from REPMUS 23 (Robotic Experimentation and Prototyping augmented by Maritime Unmanned Systems 2023) exercise were presented, as well as the challenges for REPMUS 24. During this conference, the COE strengthened its links with industrial and academic partners to shape the future of the Maritime GEOMETOC domain.​
