Shaping the future of Rapid Environmental Assessment at REPMUS 25

18-18 October 2025

On the 18th of September, the NATO Maritime GEOMETOC COE hosted a Data Exploitation Workshop during REPMUS 25. The focus: developing a Handbook for a NATO REA Data Hub that will enhance how environmental information is collected, shared, and used in operations.

Key topics included:
• Understanding the REA doctrine and information flow
• Defining the functional requirements for the Data Hub
• Designing patterns and architecture to support decision-making

This initiative builds on the experience gained from previous REPMUS exercises, in which thousands of mission products and queries were successfully managed through experimental data hub systems.

The Handbook will provide NATO and partners with a standardized framework for the rapid integration of geospatial, meteorological, oceanographic and space-weather data into operational, thereby strengthening interoperability and situational awareness.
