From 18 to 20 November, the NATO Maritime Geospatial, Meteorological & Oceanographic Centre of Excellence (GEOMETOC COE) successfully hosted the AJP-3.11 Data Fusion Workshop in Lisbon. The event brought together subject-matter experts and representatives from NATO Nations and entities to support the ongoing development of Allied Joint Publication AJP-3.11.
Data fusion is a key component of Allied joint doctrine development. It involves a structured and comprehensive assessment of all relevant information, inputs, and national guidance. Throughout the workshop, participants examined the current version of AJP-3.11 to determine whether it remains fit for purposes or requires updates to address evolving operational and organizational needs across the Alliance.
This collaborative effort ensures that Allied forces are supported by doctrine that is current, comprehensive, and operationally relevant. The insights gathered in Lisbon will directly contribute to refining AJP-3.11, helping to ensure it continues to meet NATO’s modern requirements and to strengthen interoperability in joint operations.
The Maritime GEOMETOC COE extends its appreciation to all participants for their expertise and active engagement, reaffirming our shared commitment to advancing NATO’s doctrinal foundation.
